Why does the strength of a guttering system matter?
How strong a guttering system is important for three reasons:
1. Ensures a strong resistance to rain or storm loading
2. Protect against snow or ice damage
3. Increases the lifespan of an installation
A stronger more robust gutter will last longer, require less replacements and ultimately cost you less in the long run. This is why having a durably design gutter was top priority when we designed the patented Aluflow® Guttering system.
Being manufactured from high quality aluminium already provided a substantial strength element but we want more than that. So, throughout the gutter system our R&D Teams incorporated a range of unique never-seen-before features to take Aluflow’s toughness to a new level.
Why is aluminium gutter the strongest guttering type?
Aluminium guttering is the strongest type of guttering because it provides the natural robustness of metal guttering, without the rusk and lifespan risks of steel guttering and other ferrous metals.
Naturally, compared to plastic guttering there is a stark difference in strength with the like of Aluflow® Gutters tested up to 50kg/m whereas plastic would barely hold 5kg/m. Additionally, there is the fading and discolouration challenges associated with plastic. It’s hardly a contest when comparing plastic and aluminium.
This unparalleled strength is important when considering whether gutters can handle heavy rain or snow loading to suit a project.
